Founded in 1881 as Newark Technical School, NJIT has educated many generations of young women and men who went on to become leaders in science and technology in virtually every industry, the private sector, and in government as well. Today, our mission is even more vital, both with respect to preparing students for successful scientific and technological careers and for advancing research critical to maintaining this country’s strength in the intensely competitive global marketplace. This year NJIT is proud to observe the 125th anniversary of its founding.

To help build awareness of this celebratory year, the university has created a 125th anniversary mark as well as stationery. The anniversary mark and the new logo are incorporated in the anniversary stationery to good effect. While it is correct to use either the anniversary stationery or the new logo stationery, you are encouraged to use the anniversary stationery when appropriate.
